The combination of Purify bass/mid motors and the Raal ribbon tweeter are able to employ lightning-fast precision and  deliver exquisite whisper-quiet musical passages or thunderous bass  completely free of distorting cabinet resonances. Dual 8" passive radiators tuned to the cabinet volume offer the perfect way of enhancing bass energy without the inherent problems with ports or transmission lines.

Cabinet construction begins with an inert baffle of 50mm thickness and employing a fully braced design througout. Often the biggest problem with loudspeaker design is its inability to decouple itself from the floor and also other extraneous airborne vibrations. The perfect solution was an existing design which has already  won many awards in its own right and able to completely remove the passage of deleterious vibrations both to and from the speaker cabinets. This impart a serious improvement in soundstage and bass precision.

The Voltaire range continues with another Reference marque combining technology from the Ref IV and utilising the very best components to extract the finest details and nuances from this beautiful loudspeaker.

Using a critically doped 8” bass unit with high linear excursion characteristics and low midrange colouration and able to
achieve very good transient stability at high sound levels.

Coupled with a highly specified and large ribbon tweeter able to crossover at lower frequencies gives the Ref 1 much of its incredible vocal clarity and refined sound.

The Ref 1 takes isolation control to new levels with a newly designed crossover board made from oak and suspended from the main cabinet via rubber to allow the crossover components to be free of direct vibrations.

Internal wiring made from Cryogenically treated silver plated copper connecting the drive units to the crossover and terminals.

Specially selected capacitors and inductors bring added harmony and precision to soundstaging, focus and depth of image.

The new Burlington Mkll has taken many years to develop and a big achievement to supersede an already very popular design.

Based around a cabinet of high structural integrity using constrained layer damping philosophies in much of it's design and using possibly the best bass/midrange and tweeter on the planet with a cross-over that flawlessly integrates both drivers together.

As with all new designs we are constantly trying to raise the bar in terms of simple musical enjoyment  where you can connect with the music being played. The Burlington Mkll does this in a truly holographic nature! Stereo separation and the natural decay of notes are portrayed in exquisite detail and resolution. High frequencies such as cybils and the natural air and textures  around instruments give an astounding realism to  recordings especially live venues.

Although this design incorporates a single Purify Audio 6.5" driver for bass and mid frequencies, the level and quality of bass produced still amazes everyone. Capable of reproducing the lower octaves of music with extreme speed and authority.

Special attention was given to the cross-over design which uses specific components to match the drivers irrespective of cost. Additional damping applied to the cross-over board with point to point wiring, silver solder and internal wiring using 99.999% 5N OCC copper wire with Airlock insulation made from fluoropolymers.

Each base is made of 10mm steel with isolation coming from our Panzerholtz and ball bearing feet which has been proven to give a far superior isolation of loudspeaker to floor. It is essential to dampen the vibrations emitted by loudspeakers either through the air or via the ground borne vibrations with both equipment dampening and loudspeaker dampening techniques. Spikes and "soft" isolation feet generally do not work and can introduce various problems when connected to differing floor structures.

Both the stand mount version and the floor standing model will redefine the  possibities  from an audiophiles perspective in terms of sound staging, resolution and dynamic contrast.

Vanishingly low distortion figures are only 1 of many features these loudspeakers exhibit bringing  the listener closer to the " in real life" musical experience within your listening space than ever before.

The all new Opulus has been completely re-designed with an upgraded bass/mid transducer from Morel utilising a massive 3" Hexatech voice coil and damped composite polymer  for high power rating and low distortion. 

State of the art components and construction allow this design to operate with great speed, and precision with extended and controlled bass belying it's small size. Complimented by a Ribbon tweeter which is incredibly fast and dynamic, music flows effortlessly allowing the listener to become one with the musician.

Our new reference internal wadding "Angel hair"from Mundorf is installed as standard bringing significant improvements in the mid range frequency band. Its damping properties significantly increase the auditory spaciousness of music reproduction.

Having spent many years researching the benefits of higher quality internal wiring, binding posts and cross-over components, Opulus as with all the Robson range comes with an upgrade path to maximise on signal purity.

Arabis is an ultra high end mini monitor based around  Purify Audio's ultra low distortion 4" bass/mid transducer and a Morel dome tweeter.

Although these were originally designed for near field monitoring, they are equally at home as full range loudspeakers due to the huge bass capabilities of the Purify transducers.

Incredibly low distortion,  purity of sound and detail resolution are where these monitors excel. Bass response is beyond understanding for such small loudspeakers.

Arabis are one of the new designs of high end loudspeaker models from Robson Acoustics  which now incorporate Purify Audio transducers which we believe to be amongst the very best in the world. Combined with a compact Acuflex dome tweeter from Morel to give an amazing soundstage and tonal accuracy.

All loudspeakers are handcrafted in solid hardwood which are finished in a hard wax polish. 

Cross-over design and internal wiring as always, using very good quality components and mounted on well dampened boards and using Mundorf " Angel hair" as internal dampening material. This creates a very flat response across the frequency band.
